Switch to the 2-axle vehicle mode to estimate front axle, rear axle, and side-to-side load share from load positions.

Shows front/rear and left/right imbalance in both weight and percent Suggests how much to move from the heavy side toward the light side Includes a simple static estimate for 2-axle vehicles Accepts unit-tagged input and share URLs

Important safety notes

Prioritize the vehicle label, manual, legal limits, and measured values.
This page is a simple educational self-check. Do not use it as the final decision for dispatch or driving safety.
Use scales, axle weighing, and an actual vehicle check before driving.

What this tool can do

Review front/rear and left/right imbalance as both an absolute weight and a percentage.
Get a rough cue for how much weight should move and in which direction.
Estimate front and rear axle load in 2-axle mode from wheelbase and load position.
Switch display units between kg / lb / t and m / ft.
Share the exact state by URL with teams in other locations and languages.

How to use

  1. Choose “Front/Rear + Left/Right Input” for a quick balance check, or “Vehicle Template” when you also want an axle-load estimate.
  2. Enter the weights first, then add vehicle inputs and load positions if needed.
  3. Review the front/rear gap, left/right gap, axle estimate, and warning badges.
  4. Use the reposition hints as a guide, then copy the result or share the URL if needed.

Examples

Quick balance check

Input

Front 320 kg / rear 280 kg / left 340 kg / right 260 kg

Output

Front/rear difference 6.7%, left/right difference 13.3%. The page suggests moving about 20 kg rearward and 40 kg to the right.

2-axle vehicle estimate

Input

WB 4.2 m / support width 1.8 m / empty front 2200 kg / empty rear 1800 kg / 1000 kg load at 3.4 m from the front axle and 0.2 m to the right

Output

Front axle 2390.5 kg, rear axle 2609.5 kg, estimated left/right 2388.9 kg / 2611.1 kg.

Glossary

Axle load

The load carried by the front axle or rear axle. Each vehicle has its own allowed limit.

Wheelbase

The distance between the front axle center and the rear axle center. It is used for front/rear load transfer.

Support width

An approximate distance between the left and right support points, used for a simple side-to-side estimate.

Static estimate

A simplified estimate based only on the balance of forces at rest. It does not include dynamic transfer while driving.

Formulas

  • Front/rear difference % = |front - rear| / (front + rear) × 100
  • Left/right difference % = |left - right| / (left + right) × 100
  • Front axle contribution = load × (WB - x) / WB
  • Rear axle contribution = load × x / WB
  • Left contribution = load × ((TW / 2) - y) / TW
  • Right contribution = load × ((TW / 2) + y) / TW

How are the reposition hints calculated?

In the quick mode, the page suggests moving half of the difference. In vehicle mode, it uses a static moment equation to estimate the required shift distance.

  • This page is a simple estimate for education and self-check. Vehicle labels, regulations, and measured values always take priority.
  • It does not model dynamic behavior, load securement, suspension, tires, road slope, or bridge restrictions.
  • Template starter values are only placeholders. Replace them with actual vehicle data before relying on the result.
