About temperature correction

The calculator treats the entered density as the density at reference temperature Tref, then applies a simple correction with the volumetric expansion coefficient α. This generally matches how many liquids become less dense as temperature rises.

This correction is only an approximation over relatively small temperature ranges. Strongly nonlinear materials, such as water, or wide ranges can produce noticeable error. For precise work, use manufacturer data or a physical-property handbook.

Density changes with temperature. How is that handled?

This tool uses a coefficient-based approximation rather than a detailed physical-property model. Refer to manufacturer data or handbooks when higher accuracy matters.

Which units are available?

Density supports kg/L, g/mL, kg/m3, g/cm3, lb/gal(US), and lb/ft3. For mass, choose kg, g, or lb. For volume, choose L, mL, m3, or gal(US).

Can I calculate many rows at once?

Yes. In the batch tab, paste TSV or CSV data for bulk conversion. You can export the result by copying TSV or downloading CSV.

What if I do not know the density?

The tool does not guess density from a material name. Because the error risk can be high, use specifications, SDS sheets, or published manufacturer values.
