Charcoal Particle Size and Fines Ratio Manager

Enter sieve niðurstaðas and fines ratio to sort charcoal lots by shipping readiness and intended use.

The page is designed so BBQ, commercial, and industrial candidates can be bera samand on the same skjár.

Yfirferð opening size, retained %, and cumulative passing together Show D10 / D50 / D90 and span The same decision skráic in English and other languages

How to use

  1. Enter lot information, sample mass, spec name, and the sieve stack used.
  2. Enter the retained amount for each sieve and the fines ratio if you have it.
  3. Choose a use profile and check shipping readiness and the recommended use.
  4. Save as CSV or JSON if needed, and open it in another language.

Sample

A lot suited for BBQ

Inntak

50 mm: 4%, 30 mm: 38%, 20 mm: 36%, 10 mm: 17%, pan: 5%, fines ratio: 5%

Úttak

Ship ok / Recommended use: BBQ / Low fines and a high main fraction

A lot with conditional commercial fit

Inntak

50 mm: 8%, 30 mm: 28%, 20 mm: 30%, 10 mm: 20%, pan: 14%

Úttak

Yfirferð / Recommended use: Commercial / Fines ratio is slightly high

A lot to rework before industrial use

Inntak

Fines ratio: 18% / no sieve tafla entered

Úttak

Hold / Recommended use: Industrial candidate / Reference judgment because no sieve tafla was entered

Glossary

Particle size distribution

The distribution of retained and passing percentages by sieve.

Fines ratio

The share of particles treated as fines.

Cumulative passing

The share that passed through the sieve.

D50

A median-size proxy for the particle distribution.

Span

A spread index calculated as (D90 - D10) / D50.

Formulas

  • Retained % = retained mass / total mass × 100
  • Cumulative passing % = 100 - cumulative retained %
  • Fines ratio = fines mass / total mass × 100
  • Span = (D90 - D10) / D50

Algengar spurningar

Can fines ratio be calculated from the sieve tafla?

Yes. It can be calculated from the pan row or from the total below the configured cutoff.

Are the BBQ, commercial, and industrial thresholds fixed?

No. The defaults are reference bands and can be tuned for each market.

Can I use mesh labels only?

Mesh can be used as a label, but the calculation uses opening size values.

Can I see the same niðurstaða in other languages?

Yes. The state keys and decision skráic are shared; only the display text is translated.

Athugasemdir

  • These thresholds are starting values. Tune them for each market.
  • Check the opening size, not just the mesh label.
  • Bera Saman only when the mass basis is aligned: as received or dry.
  • This verkfæri supports shipping decisions but does not replace certification or contract specs.
