How to use

  1. Choose the temperature unit and basis, then enter the site temperature.
  2. Enter reference temperature, earliest recoat, latest recoat, and masking completion for each product.
  3. Optionally add the application start time and review the schedule timestamps.
  4. Review the results, then copy, share the URL, or export PDF.

Sample

Viewing a 20°C primer at 30°C

Input
Project: Exterior repaint / Site temp: 30°C / Reference temp: 20°C / Q10: 2.0 / Primer: 4-8h, masking 6h
Output
Temperature factor 0.50, earliest recoat 2h, latest recoat 4h, masking complete 3h

Viewing a 77°F top coat at 59°F

Input
Project: Shopfront repaint / Site temp: 59°F / Reference: 77°F / Q10: 2.0 / Top coat: 8-24h, masking 12h
Output
Temperature factor 2.00, earliest recoat 16h, latest recoat 48h, masking complete 24h

Glossary

Reference temperature
The temperature at which the data-sheet timing was specified.
Q10
The time-change multiplier for a 10°C shift. With 2.0, a 10°C drop roughly doubles the time and a 10°C rise roughly halves it.
Earliest recoat
The earliest recommended time to apply the next coat.
Latest recoat guideline
The upper end of the recoat window. If exceeded, surface preparation may be required.
Masking completion
The estimated time when protection or masking can be completed.

Formulas

  • temperatureFactor = Q10 ^ ((referenceTempC - siteTempC) / 10)
  • adjustedMinutes = referenceMinutes × temperatureFactor
  • targetTime = startTime + adjustedMinutes
  • Safe rounding: round earliest up, latest down, masking up

Notice (approximation only)

  • This is an estimate. Always prioritize the product data sheet and site conditions.
  • Humidity, ventilation, film thickness, substrate temperature, sunlight, wind, and mix ratio are not modeled precisely here.
  • If the reference temperature or basis differs from the data sheet, match the same basis before entering values.
  • The meaning of a recoat deadline varies by product. Check whether prep is required after the window closes.

FAQ

Which temperature unit should I use, °C or °F?

Use the unit used by the site and the data sheet. Switching units converts the values.

The data sheet is based on 25°C / 77°F. Can I enter 20°C instead?

No. Enter the reference temperature exactly as stated in the data sheet.

What if the product does not list a latest recoat guideline?

Enter the same value as the minimum or leave it blank. Missing values are shown as partial results.

Can humidity be considered too?

Not in this initial version. Humidity is handled only as a caution note.

Can I reproduce the same inputs from a shared URL?

Yes. It restores the project name, temperature conditions, rows, and settings.

Can I use the PDF directly in a proposal?

Yes. The proposal layout is designed for print/PDF output.
