Purpose

Record each species code, species name, primary use, and relevant remarks in the species master.
Keep the plot ID, tree number, survey date, species, diameter at breast height, and tree height in the same survey record.
Record health status, regeneration observations, and remarks alongside the measured dimensions.
Diameter-at-breast-height fields use centimeters, while tree-height fields use meters. Check the units and tree identifiers before combining records from different survey sessions.
How to organize the survey records
From species settings to survey review
Prepare your species and classification lists before recording trees. Keep the plot ID and tree number with every measurement so the observation remains identifiable.
Step 2
Identify each tree record
Enter the plot ID, tree number, survey date, and species code. Keep the species name consistent with the species master.
Step 3
Enter measurements and observations
Record diameter at breast height and tree height in their labeled units. Add health status, regeneration observations, and any remarks to the same record.
Step 4
Review the recorded results
Calculate tree counts, average dimensions, basal area, and health-status summaries separately, then enter them in the dashboard manually. Check the summarized values against the individual survey records.
