  1. 1
Enter the log count, log diameter, log length, and defect rate.
  2. 2
Choose the firewood shape, then enter the target length and cross-section.
  3. 3
Set the stacking preset and bag capacity.
  4. 4
Review pieces, stacked volume, and bag count in the result cards.

Examples

Standard round firewood

Entrada

10 logs, diameter 280mm, length 3.6m, defect 12%, firewood length 330mm, diameter 80mm, stacking factor 0.70, bag 100L

Saída

About 1,176 pieces / about 2.79 m³ / about 27.9 bags (purchase guide 28)

Imperial site example

Entrada

8 logs, diameter 10in, length 8ft, defect 10%, firewood length 16in, width 4in, thickness 4in, stacking factor 0.65, bag 3.5ft³

Saída

About 212 pieces / about 48.3 ft³ / about 13.8 bags (purchase guide 14)

Formulas

  • Log volume = π × (diameter ÷ 2)^2 × length × log form factor
  • Usable volume = log volume × log count × (1 - defect rate)
  • Pieces = floor(usable volume ÷ one-piece volume)
  • Stacked volume = finished firewood volume ÷ stacking factor
  • Bags = stacked volume ÷ bag capacity

Observações

  • Diameter is treated as an average estimate. Use the log form factor if taper is strong.
  • Stacking factor and bag capacity vary with site practice, packing density, and firewood size.
  • Charcoal yield is out of scope.

Perguntas frequentes

Is the log diameter average or top-end?
It is treated as an average diameter. If you only know the top-end diameter, adjust it to a nearby average.
Are pieces rounded up?
Completed pieces are floored, while bag count is rounded up as a purchase guide.
What if I do not know the bag capacity?
You can still use the piece count and stacked volume. Bag count stays hidden until you enter a capacity.
Can I type values like 8ft or 330mm?
Yes. Each field accepts bare numbers using the selected default unit, and values with a unit suffix.
Does it calculate charcoal yield too?
No. Charcoal production uses different conditions and is out of scope.
