Formulas

Log volume = π × (diameter ÷ 2)^2 × length × log form factor
Usable volume = log volume × log count × (1 - defect rate)
Pieces = floor(usable volume ÷ one-piece volume)
Stacked volume = finished firewood volume ÷ stacking factor
Bags = stacked volume ÷ bag capacity

Napomene

Diameter is treated as an average estimate. Use the log form factor if taper is strong.
Stacking factor and bag capacity vary with site practice, packing density, and firewood size.
Charcoal yield is out of scope.

Česta pitanja

Is the log diameter average or top-end?

It is treated as an average diameter. If you only know the top-end diameter, adjust it to a nearby average.

Are pieces rounded up?

Completed pieces are floored, while bag count is rounded up as a purchase guide.

What if I do not know the bag capacity?

You can still use the piece count and stacked volume. Bag count stays hidden until you enter a capacity.

Can I type values like 8ft or 330mm?

Yes. Each field accepts bare numbers using the selected default unit, and values with a unit suffix.

Does it calculate charcoal yield too?

No. Charcoal production uses different conditions and is out of scope.
