Measurement error guide
  • The larger the 3-4-5 triangle, the less sensitive it is to error. Increase scale k when possible.
  • Tape measures can sag or skew; keep tension consistent and fix the endpoints.
  • Measure diagonals from the same reference point (nail/chalk mark/corner). Misaligned points invalidate results.
  • Measure multiple times and check spread. If spread exceeds tolerance, re-check the method.
  • Line thickness also affects results; agree on which edge of the mark is the reference.
