Uncovered excess

Is transparency preserved?

PNG/WebP preserves transparency. JPEG does not support transparency, so you can choose 'Blend with background color (White/Black/Custom)' during conversion. (MDN Web Docs)

WebP supported browsers?

WebP is widely supported by modern browsers. However, some older environments like old Safari may have limitations; if unsupported, a notification will appear on screen. (Can I Use)

Does EXIF (Location info) remain?

When converting via browser Canvas, metadata (like EXIF) is generally lost. We explicitly note this for use cases requiring location data retention. (lists.whatwg.org)

Are images sent to a server?

No. This tool processes within the browser and does not upload externally (Download is triggered by your action).

Does orientation change after conversion?

This may happen in some environments due to differences in EXIF Orientation interpretation. Try converting again in a different browser if necessary. (MDN Web Docs)

WebP to PNG Conversion (How to convert WebP back to PNG)

To convert WebP back to PNG, simply add WebP to this tool and set the output format to PNG.

WebP with transparency can be preserved in PNG. Useful for re-editing diagram assets or UI parts.

PNG JPEG Conversion (Note on Transparency)

PNG preserves transparency, but JPEG does not. Transparent areas are blended with a background color during conversion.

To maintain transparency, set the output format to PNG or WebP.

Benefits of Browser-based Image Format Conversion (No Upload)

No app installation required, enabling immediate conversion.
