Crop Yield Estimator (Plant Count, Unit Yield, Box Conversion)

Estimate total yield, yield per area, box count, and container count from plant count, average fruit weight, or yield per plant.

Start with as few as three inputs Supports fruit weight x fruits per plant Convert into boxes and containers instantly Use ranges and shareable URLs together

What this tool covers

  • Estimate total yield from area + planting density + yield per plant, or from direct plant count + yield per plant.
  • Calculate yield per plant from average fruit weight and fruits per plant, then convert the result into boxes or containers.
  • When yield varies, compare total yield and box count with min / avg / max range inputs.

How to use

  1. Enter area, then choose either `Area + planting density` or `Direct plant count`.
  2. Choose either `Yield per plant` or `Fruit weight x fruit count` for the crop yield input.
  3. Add box weight, container weight, and the rounding rule only when you need shipping output.
  4. Turn on range mode when yield varies, then enter min / avg / max yield per plant.
  5. Reuse the output with copy result, share URL, and reset.

Sample cases

0.3 ha, 12,000 plants/ha, 1.4 kg per plant

Input

Area 0.3 ha, density 12,000 plants/ha, yield per plant 1.4 kg, box weight 15 kg, container weight 300 kg

Output

Total yield 5,040 kg, 5.04 t, 336 boxes, 17 containers, unit yield 1,680 kg/10a

Use fruit weight x fruit count with a range

Input

Area 0.2 ha, density 18,000 plants/ha, average fruit weight 220 g, 7 fruits per plant, box weight 10 kg, range 1.2 / 1.54 / 1.8 kg per plant

Output

Average total yield 5,544 kg, range 4,320 kg to 6,480 kg, box count 432 to 648 boxes

Formulas

  • Plant count = area x planting density, or the direct plant count input
  • Yield per plant = direct input, or average fruit weight x fruit count
  • Total yield (kg) = plant count x yield per plant
  • Unit yield (kg/10a) = total yield / (area in m² / 1000)
  • Box count = total yield / box weight

Frequently asked questions

Yield varies a lot.

Turn on range mode and enter min / avg / max yield per plant. The tool will show total yield and box count as a range.

My box size is different.

Box weight is fully editable. Presets are just shortcuts. You can enter any box weight that matches your operation.

Can I switch units?

Yes. Area supports m² / a / 10a / ha / acre, mass supports kg / lb, and fruit weight supports g / oz. The secondary total-yield display can switch between metric tonnes, US tons, and UK tons.

Notice

  • This tool gives an estimate only. Real yield can change because of weather, pests, crop management, harvest frequency, grading, and discard rate.
  • When you use it for shipping or labor planning, compare not only the average result but also the min / avg / max range and keep enough buffer.
